Real-World Police Reformation & Community Building through Evolutionary Education For Positive Policing

Policing and Cultural Biases Must Change

The goals are simple — the journey is complex — the solutions can start today.

Goal One:

Support and, if necessary, compel police leaders to change their strategies and tactics through an offer difficult to refuse: pro bono De-escalation Communication™, Emotional Regulation, Resiliency and Police Krav Maga training.

Goal Two:

Through specialized Krav Maga training and related social activities, to build community among disadvantaged and advantaged youths through friendships. Have our sponsored kids and police officers befriend one other.

Vision:

Our vision is to create a policing system that prioritizes respect and effectiveness in serving and protecting communities. By fostering a culture of professionalism, empathy, and accountability, we aim to help build trust and legitimacy between law enforcement and the communities they serve.

Mission:

Our vision is to foster a culture of respect and excellence in policing, where law enforcement officers serve and protect their communities with empathy and effectiveness. Our mission is to bridge the gap between the police and communities through training and education.

Community building through use-of-force training reform and diverse youth group Krav Maga programming.

We recognize that while most police officers are dedicated public servants, there remain instances of excessive use of force that undermine trust and legitimacy in the eyes of many communities, especially those of color. To address this, we have aligned our approach with the principles outlined in President Obama's "Pillars of 21st Century Policing."

In addition to training reforms, we believe community-building is crucial to improving police-community relations. Our diverse youth group Krav Maga programming offers a unique opportunity for people of different backgrounds to come together, build relationships, and develop mutual understanding and respect.

Pillars:

At the heart of this movement are six pillars of 21st-century policing:

  • building trust and legitimacy,

  • policy and oversight,

  • technology and social media,

  • community policing and crime reduction,

  • training and education,

  • and officer wellness and safety.

The Road to
Positive Policing

The Problem

Law enforcement’s excessive use of force is a persistent problem in the United States. Despite the majority of police officers being dedicated public servants, the limited training and lack of a national use-of-force standard has contributed to instances of unjustifiable shootings and assaults.

With only a few hours of in-service refresher training each year, it is crucial that this training is both practical and Constitutionally grounded. However, without a standardized training protocol, there remains a significant gap in ensuring consistent, effective, and constitutional policing practices across the countr

The Solution:

Our approach to police training prioritizes de-escalation, emotional regulation, respect and Constitutional principles with a sequential emphasis on the following key principles:

  1. De-confliction, Coherence, Emotional Regulation, Resiliency and Humanity: Police officers must approach every encounter with a peaceful solution in mind, treating individuals with dignity and respect and demonstrating cultural competency. Re-establishing a person-to-person connection with the community is essential.

  2. De-escalation Communication™: Encounters should be approached presenting choices rather than issuing threats, with officers asking individuals to comply rather than telling them, and explaining the reason for their request.

  3. Reasonable Force: Use of force should be limited to only what is necessary to thwart violence or resistance. Tactics must be designed to avoid and minimize injury. The use of head strikes, chokeholds, neck restraints, spinal pressure, or prolonged body compression holds is prohibited.

By following these principles, we aim to ensure that police officers are equipped with the skills and knowledge necessary to effectively serve and protect their communities while respecting the rights and dignity of individuals.

Anti-Hate Programming

and Community Building

The Problem:

The rise of intolerance, stereotyping, divisiveness, and hate in the United States is a growing concern for all Americans.

The Solution:

To address these issues and foster a more inclusive and united nation, it is essential that diverse communities come together and build strong, meaningful relationships.

Our youth program’s goal is to bring together advantaged and disadvantaged young people, ages 10-15, who would not otherwise have the opportunity to interact and form relationships. Through various group activities, including Krav Maga classes, sports clinics, movie screenings, inter-faith activities, and educational field trips, we aim to promote resilience, leadership and community building.

By improving the relationships among young people and police officers, we aim to enhance the civic structure and foster respectful, empathetic political dialog and communication. Our program emphasizes Krav Maga self-mastery, conflict avoidance, emotional regulation, de-escalation communication, athletic skills enhancement and personal safety. We hope to provide young people with additional tools to succeed both in and outside the classroom. By promoting understanding, cooperation, and inclusion, we can make a positive impact on our communities and our country.
